My First Ibaloi Poem

Sangkhap

No sinmureng e bo-day
Ja edigat e pan-uma
Ayshe'y en mesodngan
Nem sota kedsang mo.

Sota kedsang ja shakaso sinelbitan
E on para-mal nima dota
Ja en onbiyag ni karakdan.
Gameng shaken kapatghan.

Danshok ja empakneg
Ni shanom tan ngalab,
Sikod ka ngo reshan ja imausal
Sakbay ira di ma imapodpod ja kabjon.

Nem no si Nanang da e kinmeshaw
Sikukumbaba kan imay-etang.
Jet angken ngentoman i mepedabas
Wara ka ladtan matekal ja sangkhap.

Introduction - Shukian

I am Melvin Clemente Magsanoc. I am an Ibaloi. My ancestors are from Kabayan, Benguet; Itogon, Benguet; Tuba, Benguet; and Baguio City. I am presently residing at Baguio City but I am working at Saint Mary's School of Sagada, Sagada, Mt. Province.

I started this blog because I want to post my poems here. I write poems about the different cultures in the Cordilleras. I also write poems about the environment and just about anything else.
